About Each Community at Heritage
Heritage Senior Living was started in 2000 by a man who dreamed of creating high-quality senior communities in great architecture that feels like a home instead of a hospital.
Each community strives to be a leader in senior care while encouraging an active lifestyle and a fun social life with activities for everyone, such as their monthly themed dinners or the exercise programs.
Each resident is assessed before they move in and at least once every six months by the onsite nurse to ensure the best possible care and assistance is provided throughout the aging process.
Their restaurant-quality dining is made from scratch in every community, so it can be adjusted to any dietary requirement while still tasting delicious and fun.
An exercise program is created for every resident to improve mobility, reduce the risk of falling, and increase cognitive longevity for those who need it.
The community staff works with the physicians of each resident to ensure the highest standard of living and physical therapy is available on-site if preferred.

The family members appreciate the individualized care residents get:
Thank you for the time you spent caring for my mother. She really enjoyed your staff and you made the last years of her life special. I can't thank you enough. In addition I was always treated with kindness when I visited.

This Heritage Senior Living review is more detailed:
My grandmother stayed at the Heritage in West Allis before. They had really good activities. The building seems like a hotel. There was a big fireplace in the middle of the room, it was really nice. It's a big area too; I think it was about 800 sq. ft., which was pretty good for a single, old lady. She loved it. She just wanted to move to California. I think the staff was really cool. I liked them a lot. The best thing about it for me was the main lady that worked there; she was really down to earth and very easy to talk to. She can relate to me pretty well."

Senior Living Options
Independent Senior Living is available at sixteen of their communities for those still able to live alone, but who cannot stay in their own house.
Assisted Living is offered at eleven of their communities where exercise, healthy food, and social experiences are combined unique to each resident's needs to create as much independence as possible throughout the aging process.
Enhanced Assisted Living is available in six communities for those who need more assistance in everyday activities, but do not need a specialized nurse. Help in activities such as grooming, bathing, dressing, medication management, eating, and other assistance not generally needed in general Assisted Living communities is available at these facilities with a better staff to resident ratio.
Memory Care is available at twelve communities for seniors who have Alzheimer's and dementia. The secure entrances allow the residents to walk indoors or outside safely while maintaining a measure of independence. The communities are full of sensory experiences to entertain those with few memories as well as increasing cognitive abilities.
The option to decorate their own suite can maintain precious memories while those without memory triggers can have the facility create a comfortable suite to age in place in. Innovative care includes music therapy and multi-sensory rooms in each of the twelve communities.
Each Memory Care resident is given an Ipod with a personalized playlist that can trigger memories, excite a person, or just relax them with their favorite music. When people start to lose their memories, they often feel lost and get frustrated. Specially designed rooms combine all five senses to stimulate the brain in these residents to relax them through guided interaction and make the unfamiliar seem more comfortable.
